No girl by any means, but always golden.
Sadly Rue McClanahan has died at the age of 76. Most of you will remember her from her work on the sit-com Golden Girls though most recently she had a role in the series Sordid Lives. She had a stroke.
One of my favorite moments was Rue in Nunsense, which showed her quick thinking. The stage show has a scene where Rue, as the Mother Superior, sniffs some amyl nitrate, that was confiscated from a student, with some amusing results. In Nunsense the nuns are on the school stage, set for Grease, having a performance to raise money to bury the sisters who died of food poisoning, the result of Sister Julia, child of God, serving bad fish. Rue gets the giggles and accidentally falls between the stools on the stage leading to a hilarious ad lib on her part. Falling off the stool was not part of the script. Enjoy.
