Woman Calls Cops on Scam—They Kill Her Dog Instead

The cops are already making excuses for this thug. Here a woman calls the police to tell them that there is an online scam. They say they will send a police officer to talk to her. She tells them she won't be home and to call first so she can be there. They ignore her.

The officer goes to the home, when she is away, and then jumps over her fence ignoring the trespassing signs and warnings that there is a guard dog. When the 11-year-old dog appears he shots it to death.

Police routinely kill dogs. This is not an anomaly. This blog has warned about it repeatedly. I think of the woman who opened her door to a police officer who was lost and asking for directions—yea, they aren't so bright these days. Her dog in the house was barking. She was in the doorway and the dog couldn't get out. The officer pulled his gun and shot her dog inside the house. And, like this officer will, he got away with it. Cops cover for their own.

This is why I argue there are no good cops. The bad cops have allies who lie for them in statements, who destroy evidence on their behalf, and who will exonerate them if they are caught. It is very, very rare that a police member will be disciplined in any way that hurts them. The typical response is "paid leave" while a case is investigated. People in the private sector call paid leave a vacation. Of course, the adrenaline junkies in the police force, who get their kicks throwing around their authority, may actually find that a punishment.

What is particularly upsetting is that the good officers know of cops doing things that are criminal. They rarely turn them in. Cops don't generally arrest cops unless the case is very severe and the evidence hard to hide.

This woman, and her children, have learned that one should never call the police for help, unless it is absolutely necessary. My advice remains:

1. Never call the police unless you are convinced that the risk of their presences is lower than the risk of their not being present.

2. If you see the police in pursuit of someone, go in a different direction. Offer them no assistance and stay as far away from them as possible.

3. Teach your children that the police are NOT their friends. The days of Sheriff Andy Griffith are long gone. The police are not there to protect you or your family, they are there to enforce the law and given the over-legislation of the day, chances are you are a criminal.

4. Teach your children to never speak to an officer unless a parent is present. Cops regularly arrest children for things that rational people don't see a crimes.

5. If your school has a "resource officer" demand that they be removed. Many parents deeply regret the presence of police in the schools when their kids end up in jail for something that shouldn't matter. Kids have been arrested for accidentally bringing butter knifes to school, or for drawing a gun. Kids have been arrested for hugging, small children were handcuffed for crying. Kids were arrested for playing a game where they smacked other kids on the butt and ran. Kids have been arrested for asking a teacher for a hug—and we aren't talking high school boys after a teacher but small children.

6. If you are in a safe position, and see the police in action, and can videotape their activities, then you may save an innocent person from going to jail. Cops don't like this, however, and have arrested people for videotaping them acting illegally. But these tapes have regularly saved people from being railroaded into jail by lying officers, swearing under oath in court. The one greatest help to the innocent has been video which proves the testimony of police officers was perjured.

Police execute concrete gator

I'm baffled as to how between four police officers not one of them realized this was concrete BEFORE they started firing off their guns. Let us assume, for a second, that it was a live alligator. Even then I can't see why these trigger-happy Keystone cops would automatically have the gator killed. If gators are lying next to a pond best to leave them alone and get animal control to move them. Killing something really ought not be the first thing to come a cop's mind. It's not like its a family pet that has to be summarily executed anytime cops step on private property.

Double-standards and Cops

This first video shows a police officer assaulting, in an extremely violent manner, a man who had surrendered to his arrest. You will also see this uniformed thug pull a gun on a civilian, who appears shocked by the assault comes out of his house. This is how the police treat the public all too often.

Now look at the next video and watch what kind of standards these thugs apply to the public. An 11-year-old boy is harassed repeatedly the bullies at this school. His parents complain regularly about the bullying, which include breaking the boy's glasses. The kid then says he wished he had a gun to get rid of the bullies. The boy is immediately arrested under zero tolerance.

Apparently many schools have zero tolerance when it comes to the victim expressing anger but look the other way when a kid is being harassed.

No rational adult would take the boy's statement as a real threat. It was an expression of anger, not a specific threat. But the same lack of common senses that encourages cops to act violently also encourages them to arrest little boys expressing frustration at unrelenting bullies. On the one hand police frequently turn a blind eye to the actual violence that is committed by their own while pursuing cases that clearly had nothing to do with violence, such as this poor boy.

On the surface it would look as if they were inconsistent. But that is not the case. While they do turn a blind eye to their own actual violence, while pursuing kids for expressing anger, there is a hidden consistency. In both cases they act in ways that give them power over others, reenforcing my view that the schoolyard bullies that harass this boy often grow up and become cops.

We need reform in the police departments and the best way to get it is to remove immunity allowing individuals to file criminal assault charges against police officers and making cops personally, financially liable if they violate the rights of others.

Dangerous underwear dancers arrested: Atlanta saved.

The police attack on the Stonewall Inn, in 1969, is credited with the start of the gay rights movement in the United States. It was the first time that gays fought back and the police were horrified. The police like to pick on people especially if they feel the people won't fight back. The cops also like to use their power to indulge their own small-minded prejudices and bigotry. And it isn't just gays that they attack.

A few weeks back the Fort Worth police, in conjuction with agents from the liquor authority, attacked a gay bar. They swarmed into the bar in force and started cuffing people. One man was thrown to the ground and suffered a brain concussion that hospitalized him in serious condition. The police claimed it was because on a previous night people were seen leaving the bar who police thought might be drunk. Really? Drinking? In a bar?

Patrons made lots of accusations which the police and liquor authority denied. Alas evidence later came out that pretty much showed that the cops were liars—you would think that this was assumed given the reputation of American police officers for being dishonest, bigoted and violent. The liquor authority ended up with egg on its face and admitted their agents had falsified statements and acted in ways against departmental policy. The ruckus in Fort Worth just died down. So now the police in Atlanta engage in something similar against a gay bar there, although not quite as violently.

Once again the charges the police concocted are less than convincing. First the police claim that the raid against the patrons of the bar was done at the behest of the patrons of the bar. They claim customers of the bar filed a "volume of complaints." In another statement the police said they received "several complaints with descriptive information about alleged criminal conduct" in the bar. Remember this is the American South so "criminal conduct" could be something as dangerous as offering to sell someone a dildo. Georgia is infested with Jesus-addicts which means the legislation there particularly intrusive in people's private lives. Moralists tend to want a state as omnipotent as their alleged deity.

In another statement police claimed it was "illicit sex" that was what they putting a stop to. Good thing, I feel safer already. But elsewhere they said they were after drugs. I sincerely doubt that any actual complainants will ever be identified. Why? Because when cops want to justify a particular action they take against a particular place or person they invent such complaints. They will refer to them as the reason they had to take action. The cops invent the complaints and then act on them.

In one statement police claimed that police officers "observed criminal behavior taking place" but, they don't explain what behavior or why those "criminals" were not arrested. The police then absurdly claimed that their actions against dancing is to "deter criminal activity in order to create a safe environment." Safe? From what? Dancing? For the record, I don't feel unsafe because people dance. I do feel unsafe anytime a cop is within 200 feet of me.

Of course, anonymous complaints about "drugs" in any establishment that caters to the clubbing scene (gay or straight) which has a significant number of people present at any time, is likely to have someone there who has some illegal drugs on them. I would bet if you searched the purses of every Jesus-monger at a large Baptist Church you would find some illegal drugs along the way as well. No particular individual was being targeted, which means the police had no information about any specific drug dealing going on at the club. But they raided the club and then searched every single patron in the hope of finding some illegal drugs to justify their attack.

The problem was that they didn't find any. Personally I consider that a miracle. These days you couldn't search a cub scout pack without finding drugs. But according to news reports "no drugs were found, and none of those arrested face narcotics charges." That has to be embarrassing.

Update: Atlanta police are having a damn hard time keeping their story straight. The latest report I've read now have the police claiming that the complaints came, not from patrons, but from neighbors. A check of the satellite photos from Google show almost no neighbors at all. The building adjacent to the club is vacant. On the other side is a parking lot. Across the street is a park. A doughnut shop is half a block away. And now they claimed it "public sex" that was the criminal act, not drugs as they previously claimed. But they still haven't explained why no one was ever arrested for the crime that the cops claim took place.

In yet another version a spokeswoman for the department says that there were two complaints, one each at two different "tip lines." Anyone want to bet the same person made both calls? The anonymous caller claimed that Thursdays were "sex night" at the club. And, even more bizarre is the claim that the club took loud speakers and pointed them toward apartment buildings a distance away "playing sounces of gay men having sex." However the local "Security Alliance" of businesses and residents in the general area says that they did not initiate the complaint and "we never have received any complaints, reports, or observations about criminal activity in any way associated with the Eagle. The spokesman said: "I have spent much time on the streets of Midtown, and look under every rock to identify problem spots. Eagle is not one of those problem spots, and we have always considered the Eagle to be a good neighbor."

My guess is the one demented individual made up all these accusations, made both calls to two different lines, and then relied on the natural bigotry and thuggery of the police department to do their work for them. In essence, the police were fag bashers by proxy, which doesn't mean they wouldn't have enjoyed the task on their own.

So why was the staff of the bar arrested? That evening the bar sponsored an "underwear" party. This meant some people were dancing in their underwear. Good lord, underwear today tends to be less revealing than the swimsuits of my youth-when Speedos were the fashion. Mark Spitz posed in less for his famous Olympics photo. However, the creative thugs in blue, argued that people dancing in underwear is "adult entertainment" and the bar was not licensed for "adult entertainment." No doubt the morons in Atlanta's police department would say the following video is thus hard-core pornography.

For the record, a quick search on Youtube shows over 10,000 vidoes posted by criminals showing themselves dancing in their underwear. It is my suspicion that none of these dangerous criminals were in possession of a government license allowing them to so dance.

Press reports say the police literally searched every person in the bar. Exactly what "reasonable cause" did they have to conduct searches on every person in a business? Apparently anonymous drug complaints, or sex complaints (they haven't gotten their story straight yet to decide which one they will use). Of course this is the same police department that manufactured a false statement to a judge in order to secure a search warrant on an elderly woman who lived alone. The police lied about the circumstances completely and then conducted an armed raid on the woman's home where she was killed. Only because this old woman died was a thorough investigation done and it was proven that the cops had lied throughout the process and had no reason to raid the woman's home. They claimed an anonymous tip told them it was a drug dealers house. Liars!

According to the reports I've read about a dozen or more police officers swept into the bar and forced all patrons to lie on the floor. Each individual was searched for the non-existent drugs. And staff members were carted off to jail for allowing patrons to dance in their underwear. In addition to the dozen or more uniformed officers it is believed that ten other officers were inside the club in plain clothes. So they had 10 officers inside. Notice that no one was arrested for any of the crimes used as an excuse to raid the bar. No one was arrested for "illicit sex" and in Georgia that doesn't take much. No one was arrested for possessing or distributing drugs. And the only "criminal activity" the police officers could find was people dancing while wearing underwear—no nudity even.

Patrons who were inside said that after the first search, which turned up NO drugs, the police then searched most the patrons a second time—in the hope, no doubt, of getting lucky and justifying the "complaints" they invented. One patron said: "I was held in the bar for over an hour; they were going through and searching people. They tore the bar apart. They searched the cash register, they searched the ice machine they were ripping things off the walls. It was ridiculous. They were in full SWAT gear." I bet as the searches progressed, and no drugs were found, the police got more and more desperate. They just assumed that searching enough would turn up somebody with drugs. Whoops! Didn't happen and instead they were caught making up tales to justify their thuggery.

For the Atlanta police this is a step toward civility. At least they were murdering old ladies this time. But they did get some dangerous people who were dancing without a permit. Fuck! Really, do we need these assholes? The honest truth is that I'd rather take my risks with criminals than cops. The criminals aren't as violent and they don't have the politicial system trying to protect them. If I shoot a criminal who attacks me it's called "self-defense." If the criminal is wearing a cop's uniform is called assaulting an office and usually brings about the death penalty inflicted on the spot, without judge or jury.

Another "lost" cop kills another dog and steals.

Cops kill. Many like to kill. I have repeatedly warned on this blog that even allowing a cop on your property is a threat to you, your family and your pets. Previously I told the story of Lee Ann Hutts, who was home minding her own business. A cop, who couldn't find the address he was looking for knocked on her door to ask for directions. She made the mistake of trying to help him and her beloved dog ended up dead as a result.

In Blanchard, Oklahoma, another lost cop pulls into someone's rural driveway. He says he wanted directions. The family dog comes running out, as all dogs tend to do, anxious to greet the new arrival. Instead of getting back in his car, if he is scared by dogs, the cop kills the dog. Tammy Christopher, the owner of the dog, says she wants the cop held accountable. But Tammy doesn't understand cops never hold each other responsible unless they are forced to do so.

The dog-killer, Deputy Sean Knight, was not held accountable at all. He was promoted.

It also appears Deputy Knight is a thief. A fellow moonlighting cop got Knight a second job at a golf course not far from where he killed the dog. It seems that Knight would work the graveyard shift, or was supposed to. He would clock into work and then disappear. I assume he returned in the morning to clock out. One night a fire started at the golf club and when the fire department arrived no one could find Knight. The golf course, being a private entity, did hold Knight accountable and fired him. Of course, stealing from an employer with falsified time sheets didn't bother the local sheriff's department even though it is a crime. But it was crime committed by a cop and cops are above the law.

In fact, Sheriff Art Kell, told a local reporter that he didn't appreciate him investigating his department and warned the reporter, "if you want to keep asking me questions on this issue you'll damage any good relationship I have with the paper." The question that spurred that veiled threat was asking if falsifying time sheets to increase pay wasn't stealing. The Sheriff said, "why is this such a big deal if the deputy was not working on department time? If I start calling you and asking you questions about your crimes and sins we'll see how much you like it."

What!!! Is the Sheriff saying that he normally wouldn't investigate people for their "crimes?" Or was he implying that if the reporter doesn't shut up that he will investigate him for crimes? Was this an admission of incompetency, or a threat of intimidation?

This is the same department that told one story about the dog murdering, pay stealing cop at the beginning but later changed the story when a video of the incident was released. Now they simply refuse to talk about their trigger-happy, dishonest, but newly promoted, officer. The local county is expected to pay compensation of $15,000 to the owner of the murdered dog.

Police thugs confuse 12 yr old black girl for white, adult prostitute.

Our friends at Reason tipped us off to this story and it’s a dozy. Once again arrogant, violent thugs are attacking innocent people but don’t worry, the thugs are the police and they are above the law.

Apparently the Galveston police got a phone call that some white prostitutes were seen on a certain street corner. The cops love to shakedown prostitutes, prostitutes tend not to shoot back and sometimes the cops get free blow jobs to conveniently forget to finish the arrest.

Of course, the bozos in uniform went to the wrong street.

Meanwhile a peaceful family was preparing things for the kids to head to school the next morning. The circuit breaker went out and Emily Milburn asked her 12-year-old daughter to go outside and switch it back on. Dymond Milburn did as her mother requested.

But as she got outside a dark van pulled up and three men jumped out and grabbed the girl. They started pulling toward the van saying: “You’re a prostitute. You’re coming with me.”

The terrified child began screaming for her father and trying to fight back. So the men, far bigger than her, covered her mouth and started beating her in the face and in the throat to shut her up.

The police were a couple of blocks away from the address reported to them. But they have justified their attack on this child saying that she looked like a prostitute because they thought her shorts were too tight. Hey, if the cops can’t tell cap guns from real guns then I can see why the same idiots can’t tell the difference between a 12-year-old black girl and a full grown white prostitute. And, of course, the same developmentally challenged officers can’t tell the differences between the various streets in town either.

The girl was hospitalized due to the injuries she suffered at the hands of these violent cops protecting decent Americans from orgasms for cash. But the boys in blue weren’t finished. Apparently, because the family is upset about the violent, thuggish behavior of these cops, it was decided they need to be taught a lesson.

So when Dymond was released from hospital and back in school the police showed up once again -- this time at the school and arrested her. She was charged with assaulting a “public servant”. Personally, I am sorry Dymond wasn’t able to shoot the bastards. It is astounding that the morons in blue didn’t realize that a terrified child will fight back when strange men grab the child in the dark.

In fact, these idiots go around teaching children to fight back if some strange man tries to grab them off the street. This is standard procedure.

An attorney for the police officers says that the police arrest the girl fro fighting back and that they also arrested the father of the girl for trying protect his daughter from the kidnappers -- of course, when the police illegally kidnap someone they don’t see it as a crime. They are superior to the law -- just watch how they drive if you don’t believe me.

The attorney says: “The city investigated the matter and found that the conduct of the police officers was appropriate under the circumstances.” Of course, what else did you expect the city to say. Consider the reality of the situation. If the city admits the cops were moronic thugs they will have to pay out a settlement so violent cops are routinely “cleared” by the politicians trying to protect their budgets. Secondly, the police unions are major supporters of political candidates. So having their financial support is an important tool for power-hungry local politicians. Arresting police officers for acting like common criminals doesn’t sit well with the police union. Third, the law and order authoritarians tend to blindly assume the police are infallible and anyone who chastises out-of-control cops is their enemy.

I fear the only way that American police will finally be restrained and forced to obey the law themselves is going to be a series of tragedies. We have witnessed cops kill dozens and dozens of innocent people and yet the politicians refuse to do anything. I tend to think that only a pile of dead cops will get the attention of the powers that be. I am not advocating killing cops. I am saying that their behaviour invites law-abiding citizens, subjected to unannounced raids, are going to defend themselves. Since the cops are stupid enough to do all this in plain clothes and routinely refuse to identify themselves until a raid is over, then cops will get killed.

People will defend themselves and their families. And the cops are inviting this by the way they now conduct themselves. No citizen who shoots a cop in such a raid should be prosecuted, let alone convicted. All individuals have the right to defend themselves. And if the police fuck up repeatedly, then the public should not be held liable for stupid cops. If it were me I’d put on the death certificate for such officers: DBS. That means “death by stupid”.

How can the police resolve the problem? Simple: follow the law and common sense.

For non-violent offenses don’t come barging in with guns drawn playing some sort of demented Rambo. Conduct a raid with uniforms instead of dressed like goons or some sort of secret Ninja brigade -- you look as stupid as you act when you do that. Third, announce who you are before you start assaulting people and shooting. Fourth, verify the location a couple of times before you charge in, your track records at reading simple directions indicate a mental propensity to get lost. Fifth, stop lying to judges in order to secure warrants. Sixth, verify that crimes are being committed, don’t act on anonymous tips without verification.

As for the politicians what they need to do is simple. One, they need to repeal laws on victimless crimes. End the war on drugs and legalize prostitution. Two, impose a zero tolerance policy on police violence. Officers who act this way ought to be drummed out of the force. In many cases they ought to be in jail as criminals. Three, when forced to pay restitution to victims of police stupidity or violence do so by reducing the salaries of the police department, not by increasing taxes on the public. In addition, repeal any protection of the cops from civil suits for their own actions. If they assault people they ought to pay compensation, not the public. Fourth, refuse to take money from the police unions. Fifth, disarmed the police in regards to military style weapons. Take away their tanks and restrict so-called SWAT teams to violent situations only. Fifth, any police officer who is found to have lied to secure a warrant, or who has lied about the circumstances of an arrest, should be fired without appeal. Sixth, any police officer who acts to cover up incidents where other police officers have violated the rules, should be fired. This includes officers who know of police violations but who don’t report them.

If such reforms are not instituted more innocent members of the public will be killed. I have long ago stopped caring about whether cops die when they are acting this way. Violent assaults on peaceful people will result in a higher number of deaths of those conducting the attacks. That is an obvious result of the way the cops are acting, their own actions are the reason they get shot. But I do care about the many, innocent victims subjected to violent cops conducting yet another botched raid over such non-violent acts as having sex for money or smoking a joint. In other words, even if this girl were a prostitute it would be no excuse for the police acting as they did.

In similar news the city of Minneapolis just had to pay out $800,000 to a family that was a victim of another violent, police raid based on faulty information. Vang Khang, his wife Yee Moua, and their children were asleep when police assaulted their home in a violent SWAT attack just before Christmas a year ago. Since the family did not know it was the police attacking them they actually called 911 for help. Vang took a shotgun to defend his family and exchanged fire with the police. Luckily he was not killed. Three police officers were hit with bullets but protected by body armor.

The police said they were looking for illegal weapons held by a street gang. But the family had nothing to do with the gang and the information the police had was wrong. A police "informant", using a fake name, had made the claims. No investigation appears to have been done. Instead the police just piled into their vehicles to conduct a violent, armed raid in the wee hours of the morning.

The family abandoned the home because the children were too fearful to stay there anymore. Yee says her children are now terrified of the police -- they are smart kids.

Here is the real kicker in this story. While Minneapolis just paid out $800,000 to compensate the victims of this SWAT raid they city also gave medals to police officers involved. Apparently we now have medals for stupid, violent attacks conducted in the absence of any real evidence that a crime has taken place. Even a cursory investigation would have shown that this family with their six young children were not involved in a street gang running guns.

Rogue choir boy threatens to bring down civilized society!

Dear Reader, I confess. I have been negligent. Far too much time has passed since I last hurled my verbal javelin at the brain-dead bureaucrats who infest government schools. I have had a good excuse -- with the presidential battle heating up there were other fish to fry, fish that stunk even more than the typical pencil-pushing imbeciles that run the schools.

Of course, it was only a matter of time before some bumbling Bozo in the school system would redirect my attention toward the menace that is state education. And, as usual, it was some poor student who had to suffer due to the duncical policies of the education establishment.

Christopher Berger is an 18-year-old high school student at Grayslake Central High School. Now often you will hear the phrase, “he’s no choir boy” when talking about teens. Not in Berger’s case. He really is a choir boy. This kid is so together that he really doesn’t need high school -- it probably stands in his way of getting an education. When he’s not in choir he’s an athlete at the school -- in three sports. He is a member of Future Business Leaders of America and spends some of his spare time training to be a fire fighter. In other words this is the sort of dream kid that government schools love to pretend they turn out.

In fact, they did turn him out, literally -- they threw him out. Worse yet, they sent the cops after the boy. If you look at the photo you will get an idea of the serious crime committed by this choir boy. In his hand he is holding something called a Multitool. Anything resembling a Swiss Army knife is a multitool. They are those weird devices that have tiny screw drivers, miniature scissors, itsy-bitsy pliers and the like, all crammed into one device. I’ve always assumed them to be more gadgety than useful. Apparently the dolts running Berger’s school see them as weapons of mass destruction.

Berger’s grandmother bought one for the boy’s father. The father decided to give it to the son. And the son accidentally left it in his jacket pocket at Christmas and forgot to remove it when he returned to school. He didn’t give much thought to it. The problem started when he accidentally left his jacket in the school cafeteria. School officials saw the jacket and searched it -- these guys are so vigilant they could work at the airport. And they discovered the multitool. Well, things went on high alert from that point on.

No doubt Homeland Security was put on full alert. President Bush immediately ordered plans for the invasion of Iran to be resurrected since this new threat was discovered. In some Pakistani cave Osama bin Laden shuddered with horror as his new plot to topple the Great Satan had been foiled. Yes, the world was saved at the very last minute. For this dangerous device contained, and I hope you are sitting down, a 2 inch knife.

When the jacket was traced to Berger he was promptly thrown out of school for two days. But these defenders of Western civilization weren’t satisfied. Office Ken Arnold (no doubt a direct descendent of Benedict) gave the poor kid a police citation which will require the boy to defend himself in court. What was our dangerous choir boy charged with? According to the Chicago Sun-Times “Officer Ken Arnold states that [Berger] endangered the life of other students by leaving a knife unsupervised.” Obviously Officer Ken’s mother beat him with a stupid stick -- often.

What is worse is that the clowns in the local police department are saying this happens all the time. They brag that students are frequently charged with endangering the lives of others for owning pocket knives.

If accidentally leaving an unsupervised multitool with a 2 inch blade is endangering the lives of others then the police better crack down on the local steak house! Have you seen the steak knives that they routinely just hand out to people? My god, the humanity!

Officer Ken was obviously being lenient. No mention was made of the tiny flashlight which is included with the tool. Do you have any idea how many people could be blinded by that? What if some Al Qaeda deep cover operative at the school grabbed this flashlight and rushed down to O’Hare airport. Before Homeland Security could figure out how to tie their shoes, this villain, who no doubt is a gay Mexican illegal immigrant, could have used that flashlight to blind pilots of departing aircraft In minutes dozens of planes could be crashing into buildings. Thank Jesus for Officer Ken.

Here is what gets me -- Officer Ken seems to be permanently stationed at the school. Ken “stupid stick” Arnold is the Student Resource Office at the school. It’s bad enough that these kids have to be around “educators” but no kid is safe in the same room with a cop. The idea of having one permanently stationed in a school ought to send shivers down the spine of every parent.

It’s bad enough one of them could be living down the road, without you knowing it, but allowing them near impressionable children is just going too far. I think we need an on-line registry so we can keep track of them. I do appreciate the uniforms and specially colored cars so we can spot this menace quickly. But some of them try to disguise themselves as decent citizens. That can’t be tolerated. Some even have pages at MySpace!

If you don’t think that America is in the grips of irrational panics and run by blithering fools then you aren’t paying attention.

Police have flour panic attack in New Haven.

The United States is sinking deeper into a mass psychosis. I’m ashamed to say it but Americas are nuts. They are crazy. The United States is a walking challenge to theories of Thomas Szasz -- who I happen to like. I know what Szasz would say since he said it to me once before when I asked him about a rather mental individual I knew: “Just because he isn’t mentally ill doesn’t mean he’s not crazy.” So we’ll leave out the references to illness and merely say America has gone off the deep end.

To illustrate the insanity lets cover a German running club called the Hash House Harriers. I first heard of them when living in Germany. The group is more of a social club than anything else and was founded in Kuala Lumpur in 1938. It basically involved individuals running a course through a city and then meeting for drinks at the end. They like to say they are a “drinking club with a running problem”.

The name comes from the nickname of the boarding house where the founders were living at the time -- the Hash House, a reference to the food by the way. So don’t get any ideas.

Originally a “hare” would lay out a track using paper. It would include false leads as well. But in recent years their environmental sentiments required abandoning the paper and using chalk or flour instead. And this is where the trouble started indicating the pure insanity of the United States, especially the police.

This little incident took place in New Haven, Connecticut. Daniel Salchow and his sister, Dorothee, who are Harriers were involved in a local race. Dorothee was visiting from her native Germany and Daniel, a physician, now lives in the United States (part of the brain drain created by Germany’s medical system). They were the Hares laying out the trail that the runners had to follow. And they used biodegradable flour to mark the routes and lay down the clues -- there is a system of intricate symbols.

They decided the runners should have to make their way through the local IKEA parking lot.

The two were obviously seen sprinkling flour marks on the ground. And the local morons in the police department were called. Unable to recognize flour when they see it the police evacuated the IKEA and closed it for the rest of the day. A spokeswoman for the Mayor said: “You see powder connected by arrows and chalk, you never know. It could be a terrorist, it could be something more serious. We’re thankful it wasn’t, but there were a lot of resources that went into figuring that out.”

I sometimes think that moron ought to be spelled MORON. The panicked police and moronic mayoral office didn’t figure out anything. They didn’t have the collective brain to figure it out. In reality, Daniel Salchow found out that the police and politicians were making a mountain out of a flour pile and he went back to the IKEA to inform them that their paranoia was a bit over the top. He explained the race and the flour markings to the dumbstruck officials.

That was a mistake. He should have left these brain dead bureaucrats to stew. His simple explanation resulted in him, and his sister, being arrested and charged with a felony. And the clowns in New Haven government say they intend to sue the brother and sister to cover the costs of their absurd over-reaction.

Apparently if some idiot in public office has a panic attack over nothing, and manages to inflict financial harm on their community as a result, it is not the silly bureaucrat’s fault. They immediately blame the people who they victimized with an arrest over nothing. What kind of idiots are sitting in public office? Estimates are that the city flushed $50,000 down the toilet in the Great Flour Panic of 2007.

The Harriers set out race courses around the world using the same methods. No one else has gone into panic mode over it despite races being held in dozens of countries.

Another bureaucrat, the local fire chief, argues from the “precautionary principle” -- a disastrous philosophical premise that justifies any hysteria over any imaginary threat. He says the hysterical Keystone cop reaction to flour was “prudent” because “Until such time they are able to prove differently (that the substance was not hazardous), we had to act very prudently.”

Basically the precautionary principle was invented by some Greens to as a fail safe measure to stop everything. Unless something is proven to be safe it is assumed to be unsafe. Proving a negative is impossible thus progress is stalled. In this case the theory was used over harmless flour. But what doesn’t fit? This basically reverses the burden of proof in the legal system to guilty until proven innocent. It is a major philosophical reversal of Western liberal values and the detrimental impact it will have has been ignored. This is just one case, albeit a particularly absurd case.

People need to realize that the precautionary principle is inherently tyrannical. It justifies government restriction on all actions unless, and until, those actions can be proven to be harmless. Oddly this principle never seems to apply to legislation, restrictions, or regulations of any kind. It is always applied to the private sector and never to the state.

I can think of several reasons that white powder might be on the ground. If the police are going to panic over every such incident life will become hell. At some point Americans have to come to their senses and realize that the responses are more dangerous than the actual threats.

But Americans have been flushing their Constitutional Rights down the toilet with such zeal that one has to wonder. Personally I’m glad that this incident happened, though I’m sorry for the couple who were stupidly arrested. Only such clownish antics by government bureaucrats will wake some people up to the extreme measures that have been implemented in the United States. Once the people see the bureaucrats as clowns then they may demand their freedoms back. Me, I prefer to see them as clowns, the alternative to that is far scarier. No doubt many are just clowns. Some are authoritarians at heart. And some, like King George, manage to be both at the same time. Welcome to America.
