Marshall Fritz, 1943-2008

Marshall Fritz, founder of The Advocates for Self-Government and The Alliance for the Separation of School & State died yesterday (Nov. 4th) evening. Marshall had pancreatic cancer. Marshall was a decent man. And while we disagreed on his religious views, he was a hard-core Catholic, Marshall was not one who believed that the State should impose his religious values on others. He believed in freedom and equality before the law for all.

I last saw, and visited with Marshall, in Las Vegas this last July. While his illness was quite advanced at the time he remained hopeful but realistic.

Marshall will be missed.
