Important look at the TSA.

The new Moorfield Storey Institute blog has an important article on the expansion of the TSA and Homeland Security into all realms of transportation in the United States. As we reported earlier they discuss how the government has set up searches at train stations, bus depots and even on highways for private vehicles.

More importantly, however, is that they note that the federal government has changed the justification for what they are doing to one that would justify federal searchers of people anywhere that more than a handful of people might gather.

Instead of preventing the use of airplanes as weapons of mass destruction they are now doing intrusive searches in any location that might be a site for a terrorist attack. That literally means everywhere. Read the full article here.
