Page was over 18 at the time!

I have argued that all the pages in DC are over the age of consent. But not only that but at least one of them appears to have been over 18 when the messages were exchanged with Foley. These are part of the messages which ABC News reported and which everyone is saying is proof that Foley was contacting underage teens, by which they mean under 18 years of age.

The emails mention that the page's birthday was February 23. The page has a myspace page where he says he is 21 years old. That was posted in July of this year. That would mean he turned 21 on February 23, 2006, 20 on February 23, 2005, 19 on February 23, 2004 and 18 on February 23, 2003.

The instant messages that the media claimed were sent to a "minor" were sent on by Foley on August 9, 2003.

In my previous post I stated that one page said all exchanges with Foley took place AFTER the term of working as a page ended. This page left working as a page in June, 2002 when he was 17.5 years old. It was a year after that when he and Foley had the now famous conversation.

So not only was this page above the age of consent he was no longer considered a minor. He could vote, he could join the military, he could marry, etc. He was legally an adult. But because his name was being blacked out in the media this information was hidden from view. This troubled me at the time. Without knowing the birth date of the accuser you can't determine whether he was a "minor" in any sense of the word or not. Now it appears he was not a minor in any sense of the word. Foley has been branded a pedophile, a horrible and vicious accusation to make, for a raunchy conversation with an 18 year old!
