Loony Republican fundamentalist, but I repeat myself.
Rep. Sally Kern, a Republican state senator, and a fundamentalist nutter, is pushing a resolution in that explains the current recession. Don't worry, it isn't anything about economics. Now you might think that government policies promoted investments in areas where investments were a bad idea—such as housing. And you might think that this misallocation of investment needs to be rectified through the collapse of the bad investments so capital will flow in the right direction. But you would be wrong.
Republican Sally Kern, whose husband pastors a crazy Baptist Church, says that the recession "our economic woes are consequences of our greater national moral crisis." In particular, it appears that recessions are caused by "abortion, pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse, and many other forms of debauchery...." Yep, all you divorced people out there, you are the cause of the economic crisis. Along with pornographers, single mothers, those who "promote" abortion and "many other forms of debauchery." I'd be curious to see an exhaustive list of what Silly Kerns thinks is sinful. I bet there would be some real winners on that list.
These folks really are nuts and the Republicans just love them to death.
