How vicious is the war on drugs?
Drew Carey and Reason TV deserve our thanks for producing this short documentary on the case of Cory Maye. In this case the police screwed up and broke into the wrong home in the middle of the night. Maye was home with his young daughter when armed men began smashing in his door. Maye did what any father would do -- he defended his life and that of his daughter. A police officer, one who actually had no business being there, was shot and died. Maye was not a suspect. The police had broken into the wrong house. He was convicted of murder and sentenced to death. Appeals have reversed the death penalty but Maye is still unfairly in prison. Watch the entire documentary. It is about 22 minutes.
